adidas X Hellstar: ComplexCon

In 2025 we partnered with adidas Originals and showed up at ComplexCon with an activation that marked their groundbreaking partnership with Hellstar. Our presence over the two-day convention created a huge demand for the collab Superstars, a most-talked about convention experience, and drove adidas streetwear credibility.
Our tripped out Funhouse saw blacklights, otherworldly ooze, a billboard, wheatpaste posters, and tons of graffiti take over our re-imagining of an LA retail plaza. Convention goers stepped into the immersive experience for a chance to get their hands on exclusive superstars and apparel, and have it customized by our in house airbrush and screen print team. In the end, we won “best booth design” and “best collab.”
Environmental Design
Star City’s build was inspired by the raw and visually dense material palette of classic LA retail plazas combined with Hellstar’s otherworldly visual insanity and funhouse vibe. Fully black-lit rooms, glowing signage, wheat paste posters, tons of graffiti, and meticulous attention to each and every detail created an unforgettable and highly engaging environment.
The “Star City” Experience
The experience took attendees on an otherworldly journey through a black-lit athletics store where the adidas x hellstar capsule was on display, which then emptied into a spray-painted alleyway where they purchased exclusive product from our walk-up deli windows. Finally, those who purchased product were able to get it customized by Hellstar’s airbrush artist, Miles Franklin (who also did all of the space’s graffiti).
